On Friday 19 January 2007, it was the day we had to go in a jungle and stay there for one night. I woke up at almost five in the morning. I lined up to get a gun. It was a gun that was used in the World War II (very old). I walked about five kilometer from the base to another base in the jungle. There were three small bases for training. After we had breakfast, we went to our first base where we were trained how to cover ourselves in a battle field. I covered my face with a green color like a Rambo. We were all got our faces in colors some got green like me but some got yellow or black. And we learned how to communicate by the radio. When we finished training, it was a time for lunch. Not much on lunch but I needed to eat. In the after noon, we went to another base to learn about orders and all movement that would come from our commander. We ran with a gun on a small fake battle field (there were effects of gun shot). I was so tired. Everything there were make me tired. And then about four o’clock, we had to cooked for our dinner. We had to start the fire for cooking rice, chicken, pork, and soup. It took us almost an hour to finish our dinner cooking. But it was the best meal since I was there in three days. At night we went out to see stars and learn the names of them. And we were trained how to walked and searched at night. Then it was a bed time. But before I went to sleep, a bad thing happened. I lost my toothpaste and underwear at the same time when I was brushing my teeth. I hardly sleep because it was hot that night.
After four and half hour for sleeping, here it is Saturday 20 January 2007. I had a feeling that today is going to be tough because all my friends, who had come here, told me so. We walked out from the jungle base to a fake battle filed (but it was so much bigger from the day before). When we walked, we were singing songs. I could feel the hot air coming in the morning. I got to be the attacking team in the morning that was a very good thing because in the morning is less hot than the afternoon. They separated many groups to go for attacking. My group had to wait two hours, it was very bored. We started at two kilometers from the target. We walked through a corn filed about a hundred meters. It took us thirty minutes hell to finish our attacking but it looked like an hour for me. We went up and down on the ground and run with a gun. It caused me lost of energy. I was thirsty and I had not been thirsty like this in my last two years. It was very hot and dusty. At noon, we had lunch and I drank two sodas. It was a good break today. Then in the afternoon, I had to go for defending team. There was nothing much for defending team. I was just sitting in a bucker, waiting for the attacking team to arrive. It was much hotter in the afternoon. But I got luck to be in a bucker in the afternoon. We finished at about four o’clock in the afternoon and then it was time to go back to the base. I was the first group to take a shower (it was the first thing I wanted to do then). And I had the best dinner at Kol-Chon-Kai. At night we had so kind of good bye party. One of my friends went up a stage for singing and he broke a microphone, it was awesome. I thought it was done now because I am going home tomorrow. But it did not seem to be done.
