The freedom of the press or speech in Thailand

Thailand is a democracy country. Thailand gives the right to all its citizens. Thailand’s constitution gives Thai people their right and their duty based on what they could do and what they could not do. In Thailand the protest is not forbidden if the protest does not disturb other people or peace.

Everyone mostly can say everything they want in public if the talk does not violate anyone’s private life. According to the big protest of those people who did not like the old prime minister, in Thailand last year, those people have rights to say about the prime minister because the prime minister is a public man. The press or newspaper can manage their own information to the public. Mostly the government does not involve in any press. However something could not be shown in the television if the government asks for it. But almost everything could be published in newspaper. Thailand gives the freedom to a mass media and people to publish or give a speech without intervention. But sometimes, the government intervenes in a mass media if some news is not proper in a situation, for instance, to keep peace in the country or prevent a riot. Some news could be prohibited by the government because it is better to be kept in silence. The government firstly must concerns about the peace in Thailand. Sometimes they have to do something to keep peaces.

Thailand gives the press and mass media the freedom to publish everything. But sometimes, the government must intervenes or prohibit in some news if the news could make a big confusion.

I am back!!!

I came back home at 7.30 pm. yesterday. After the longest camp (I think), I have ever been. I feel so glad and very happy to be home now. The military camp was very tough. The weather there was very very hot! I think you could not imagine how hot it was? I got my body all dirty and dusty. The first thing I did when I get home is taking a long shower. And then I ate a lot of food to full my stomach. I never felt so good since I went to the military camp. It can be the worst place ever for the entire boy in Thailand. I am glad for not going back there again. I can be one of my nightmares ever. There were a lots of thing happened which some of them were not good I could say why I got so unlucky? I will tell you later about my long military camp whish is actually just five days. I am so tired. Just need some sleep.

Preparing for my Military Camp

Today I went to ABAC(my university) after a short break for mid-term exams. But I do not have much time to rest because on this Wednesday I have to go to a military camp for five days. There is called "Kol Chone Kai" where is located in Karnjanaburee province. It is near the border between Thailand and Myanmar . My friends told me it is very hot(like Hell!). I have to go there to be trained so I know how it would be in a real situation (not really). I have to be very patient for five days. Everyone told me that toilets and bathrooms are not very pleasurable to use. I imagine that it could be worse than toilets in all gas stations in Vietnam (they are not close to be called a restroom). But I have to go for my country. As a citizen of Thailand, it is my duty to go there (sound powerful, don’t you think). The truth is I do not want to join the real military, you know, to be a real solider for two whole years. So I chose to be in a corps army student when I come back, I will be a back up force not the real front line solider. And I do not have anything to worry about if I finish the third year in the reserved military school. Because when I am 21 years old then I do not have to join the army force. So I can keep study and do work or get a job without breaking the law. Even though it will be just five days I do not feel like I want to go there at all. Anyway every male citizen must g o so I am a man than I will go too. Wish me luck to save my ass back this time. See you soon!
